PICT0689

Near the intersection of Powell and Market, the police were out in enormous numbers. We did not witness any kind of rough behavior from the police or from protesters. Everyone was pretty calm. Unfortunately, by this point we had picked up too many passengers, and we ended up getting pulled over for having people in the back seat with no seatbelts on. (They said nothing at all about our sign.) Up to this point I had been scrupulously obeying every law I could think of, even stopping at red lights when it was obvious that the mass of pedestrians filling the street would prevent any cross traffic. But I forgot about the darn seatbelts.
