Prehistoric Knot Drawings

Prehistoric Knot Drawings

I coded up all the modeling, lighting, and rendering for these in BASIC on an Amiga 1000 (a model that went obsolete the minute I bought it.) I used what I would later learn is called the painter's method, sorting the polygons from back to front with a bubble sort, which was probably my very first algorithm. (The bubble sort came from my friend James Carpino, who actually knew something about programming... James, where are you now?) And yes, the little arrow is the cursor, revealing the dirty truth-- I got these pictures by pointing my old Nikon at the screen.

The date: circa 1987.
