Still Life
Cassidy Curtis

This still life was created by applying a semi-automatic watercolor painting process to a poor-quality video image. The artist created a matte, chose pigments, and chose a glazing "style" for each piece of fruit and the shadow area. The painting was then rendered automatically using a watercolor simulation.

Cloudscape
Siang Lin Loo and Cassidy Curtis

An impressionistic view of clouds at sunset, rendered using a simulation of the "wet-in-wet" watercolor painting technique. A simple computer-generated scene of a sky full of spheres served as the target for the fully automatic painterly rendering process.
