So when I see a performance like Vanessa Bayer&#8217;s as &#8220;Dawn Lazarus&#8221; in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=itYFTh8hPfA\">this SNL skit<\/a> I tend to take notice. Which then leads me down a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/blogs\/browbeat\/2017\/05\/07\/vanessa_bayer_brings_double_talk_comedy_back_to_snl.html\">rabbit hole<\/a> of related arts like<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Double-talk\"> double-talk<\/a>\u00a0(which is easier if you do it in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7Yj_N5_P5qI\">foreign language<\/a>) and good old <a href=\"http:\/\/itre.cis.upenn.edu\/~myl\/languagelog\/archives\/002915.html\">Engrish menu fails<\/a>. Meanwhile, the glorious internet digs up treasures from the pre-Google era, like the player names in\u00a0<em>Fighting Baseball:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1354 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/otherthings.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Famicom_Fighting_Baseball.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/otherthings.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Famicom_Fighting_Baseball.jpg 600w, https:\/\/otherthings.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Famicom_Fighting_Baseball-300x140.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, in 2017, machine learning comes on the scene and opens entirely new frontiers for nonsense-lovers.
