{"id":1434,"date":"2018-12-04T22:06:16","date_gmt":"2018-12-05T06:06:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otherthings.com\/blog\/?p=1434"},"modified":"2018-12-04T23:51:57","modified_gmt":"2018-12-05T07:51:57","slug":"more-age-of-sail-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otherthings.com\/blog\/2018\/12\/more-age-of-sail-news\/","title":{"rendered":"more &#8220;Age of Sail&#8221; news"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wow, it&#8217;s been a busy few weeks since we launched &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/882110\/Google_Spotlight_Stories_Age_of_Sail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Age of Sail<\/a>&#8220;!\u00a0 Hard to keep track of all the news, but here are a few highlights&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2018\/film\/news\/incredibles-2-ralph-annie-awards-nominations-1203077216\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nominated for four Annie Awards<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>For the first time, the Annie Awards will honor animated VR productions. Vying for the prize are \u201cAge of Sail\u201d by Google Spotlight Stories and Broadreach Pictures; AtlasV\u2019s \u201cBattleScar\u201d; \u201cCrow: The Legend\u201d by Baobab Studios; \u201cMindPalace\u201d by Filmakademie Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg GmbH; and Polyarc\u2019s \u201cMoss.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>In addition to the VR bid, Google Spotlight Stories\u2019 \u201cAge of Sail\u201d came away with three other nominations, including character animation in an animated TV\/broadcast production (Sikand Srinivas); character design in an animated TV\/broadcast production (Bruno Mangyoku); and production design in an animated TV\/broadcast production (Celine Desrumaux and Jasmin Lai).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Gnomon released the video of the making-of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gnomon.edu\/community\/events\/google-spotlight-stories-age-of-sail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">talk<\/a> that John Kahrs and I did.
